What is the Difference Between a Swedish
and Deep Tissue Massage?

The Deep Tissue massage is a type of Swedish massage but has a more specific purpose.

While traditional Swedish massages are most commonly requested and are generally more comprehensive and relaxing, a Deep Tissue massage is more effective for chronic muscle problems and specific small muscle injuries.

As the name suggests, Deep Tissue massages focus is on the deeper tissue of the muscle. Firm, constant pressure is applied on a specific muscle area until the muscle pushes back and relaxes.

Traditional Swedish massages, on the other hand, uses a variety of strokes to improve blood circulation, relieve overall muscle tension, and increase flexibility. It is very effective in relieving emotional and physical stress.

So, unless you need specific work on a specific injury or have chronic muscle problems, it would probably be more beneficial for you to opt for the traditional Swedish massage.
