To produce greater volume, multiple lash extensions are added to one natural eyelash. In order to accomplish this, very thin lash extensions are used to produce results. This method is also known as Russian Volume and can be referred to as 2D, 3D lashes etc.

This means either two lashes or three lashes have been applied to a single natural lash. To create more of a heavy look, some therapists can go up to 6D. The lashes used are much lighter and provide a fuller more voluminous look. This is great for those who have few of their own lashes or for those who like a more dramatic look.
