Cellulite Body Wrap

The Wrap On Body Wraps

Body wraps have become increasingly popular over the years in spas around the world. Imagine being inside a cocoon of plastic or mylar (although, towels and sheets may also be used), and you’ll have a pretty good idea of what a body wrap is.

However, what you may not know, is that there are different types of wraps and they all serve their own purpose. For instance, slimming wraps are formulated to reduce the inches, while hydrating wraps moisturize and soften the skin. Then you get the detox body wrap that uses a range of products like clay and seaweed to help the body rid itself of toxins.

But the most popular spa choice by far has to be the cellulite body wrap. This treatment improves circulation, thereby preventing harmful toxins from feeding fat cells under the skin. As a result, you’re left with a smoother appearance, free from unsightly bumps.

Skin So Smooth

What to expect from a body wrap session?

Every wrap, regardless of type, must always start with an exfoliation. For this reason, you will be asked to strip down before laying on a massage table. It’s your choice whether to brave this part in your underwear or bikini swimsuit.

Since the end goal of a wrap is for your skin to take in all the nourishing goodness being applied, a session always begins with exfoliation. This could be dry brushing, or a full body scrub. Either way, the point is to prepare your skin so that the products can penetrate as deeply as possible.

As mentioned above, each different wrap will have its own products associated with it depending on what they are going to achieve. These will be massaged into your skin, which is so relaxing some people even nod off to sleep at this point, and then the wrap will be applied.

A full body wrap will leave only your face exposed, but with the cellulite wrap for example, only the target areas will be wrapped. After application is when the process really kicks into gear.

Wrapped inside your cocoon, the products will work in combination with the warmth of the wrap and you will begin to sweat. This will last for about 30-45 minutes, depending on the treatment, during which it’s best you just lie back, relax, and let the wrap work its magic.

At the end of the session, you will be offered some water and the opportunity to rinse or towel off. It’s important to steer clear from any kind of cleansing gel or soap at this point because it will strip the skin of all the nourishment applied with the wrap. Lastly, a moisturizer is applied to protect and soften your skin.

The Wonders of Wraps

The glorious pampering of a body wrap may be enough of a reward, but there are several other benefits as well. For example, a detox wrap makes use of seaweed, algae, and mud/clay to stimulate the skin cells.

This stimulation causes the skin to flush toxins more effectively, leaving you feeling less sluggish and far more energized. Slimming body wraps are formulated to encourage sweating. Because of this, a firm wrap promotes a good perspiration session, which helps to drop inches. The sweating also rids your body of unwanted toxins and water.

Although the slimming effects are temporary, the wrap is a good start to getting on the right track with your health and weight goals. Moving on to hydrating wraps, we find that the treatment does exactly what the name suggests – it provides intensive moisture for your skin. But that’s not all… It also nourishes your skin to smooth and soften, reducing the appearance of bumps.
